Juan Gonzalez Martinez

Juan González Martínez is considered one of the most versatile trombonists of the younger generation in the field of historical performance practice. He plays therefore on historical instruments from the Renaissance to the Romantic in order to revive the original sound, for which the corresponding music of that time was conceived. He studied trombone in Murcia at the CSM “Manuel Masotti Littel” and baroque trombone under Wim Becu at the HfK-Bremen, where he completed his master’s degree in 2019 with top mark. After his postmaster degree on historical trombone –Artist’s Certificate– at the Royal Conservatorium The Hague he implements his own artistic projects as founder of Concierto Ibérico, GlossArte Ensemble and Weckmann-Consort. Juan González Martínez also plays with prestigious orchestras and ensembles of the early music scene Europe-wide, with which several live and CD recordings have been released, like Capella Cracoviensis (Jan Adamus), Le Cercle de l’Harmonie (Jérémie Rhorer), Oltremontano (Wim Becu) and Weser-Renaissance (Manfred Cordes), among others.
